Interviewing:Warren Paul Glover

How do you interpret Creon's character?

I’d like to portray him not just as a king, but as a man — someone with paternal feelings, with tenderness. But you also see him making difficult decisions for the good of the state, and those choices collide with the interests of his own family.

I'm English, and when Britain left the European Union, it was the worst foreign policy decision in my lifetime. But more than that — it caused serious rifts between families and friends. I had Brexit-supporting family members I fell out with, because I believed there were greater things at stake. That’s where I connect with Creon. It’s that impossible tension between personal loyalty and public duty.

Warren Paul Glover is playing CREON.
