Interviewing:Adam Lee

Is there a moment in the rehearsals where something clicked but you weren’t able to explain it?

Yes. Acting is spiritual, even if we don’t exactly believe in the Olympian pantheon. I think the characters have a fundamental connection to the gods themselves, and you have to take that seriously. Everything you breathe, everything you feel, the circumstances of the scene, moments of vulnerability and intimacy — the gods are everywhere, they have their influence. I believe Dionysus is behind us as theatremakers, and that’s one of those fundamentals you can feel, but you can’t really explain. You have to be there. You just have to be there.

Adam Lee is playing HAIMON.
